SABIC is launching high-value PBT resin suitable for applications that require enhanced properties and durability by chemically upcycling PET (mainly disposable water bottles) discarded by consumers, thereby stimulating further demand for recycled resin. This product also contributes to reducing the environmental footprint from raw material acquisition at the factory to product shipment, as measured by cumulative energy demand (CED) and global warming potential (GWP), compared to virgin PBT resin.
